The Factory Fastpitch Club would like to congratulate 2020 Grad Katie Collier from the 18U Gold team on her verbal commitment to continue her education and softball career at Roanoke College in Virginia.

Katie has had a very busy 2019 softball season. Some of the highlights include helping her Factory 16U Gold team to a 2nd place finish in the Triple Crown Sports Colorado Sparkler tournament, traveling to Italy to play with the USA Invite team to play international competition and she lettered for the 3rd season with her El Capitan HS team.

The path for Katie was not always easy.  She had many rough patches along the way and almost quit softball at one point. Her determination pushed her through and ultimately she made it happen. She recommends that you pick a list of 10 schools that interest you and work hard a building a relationship with them by staying in contact with emails and sending updates. She worked with John Mathieson to help her with the process and highly recommends him to anyone that needs assistance. John owns Perfect College Match and can be reached at JMathiesen@perfectcollegematch.com.

Katie is looking forward to having a great season with the Factory preparing her skills for college. Katie plans to major in Athletic Training at Roanoke. She is extremely excited to become a Maroon under Coach Mitchell and his staff. Roanoke College is a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The conference champion from the ODAC has won two of the last three national championships in Division III.

Congrats Katie – You have worked very hard and we are all very happy for you and your family.

Go Maroons!
